Yes. JustWay Homes obtained charitable status from CRA on July 7, 2023.
Since JustWay Homes does not solicit public funds, it is not bound by the Housing Services Act.
All projects are currently financed 100% by means of charitable donations and rental income.
By offering true rental-geared-to-income (at 30% Gross Income, before deductions) individuals or families can start saving for the down payment on their own home or raise the funds required to start a business.
Upon receipt of eligible donations, a receipt is issued to record the transaction and a tax receipt is issued to the donor prior to February 28th of the next calendar year. Tax receipts can be issued immediately upon request for one time donations.
0%. All administrative effort provided by board members and other individuals who care about the plight of the less fortunate is donated labour.
Our long-term vision is to partner with another established organization that shares the same goals.
Contact finance@justwayhomes.ca and either our treasurer or our bookkeeper will provide instructions on how to donate in a manner that suits you best.
If you want to learn more about the vision, mission, and strategy of JustWayHomes, write to us at: info@justwayhomes.ca. A Board Member or our Executive Director will arrange a time when we can meet with you personally to share a short presentation and answer any questions you might have.
We are looking for the following three things when we assess a piece of property or an existing building:
– within or near to the city of St. Catharines, including Thorold
– conducive to healthy family living with green space, a park, or a play-ground nearby
– in close proximity to schools, shopping, and transit routes
